Welcome
to RagTag Golden Retriever Rescue, Vermont's own golden retriever
rescue since 1995.
What
we do:
- We
work to rehome golden retriever (or retriever mixes) to new homes
in Vermont
- We
work with abused or neglected goldens until they are ready to
go on to their new home.
- If
you are interested in getting a dog, please go to our FAQ.
- If
you know of a dog that needs help, or have a dog to place through
rescue, please contact
us.
What
we don't do:
- We
don't breed... so we rarely see puppies, and when we do see them,
they're usually badly damaged. Please read our FAQ for tips on
choosing a breeder, if you're looking for a puppy. (FAQ)
- We
don't turn a profit! This isn't a business, it is an all volunteer
effort and run out of our paychecks. Consequently:
- Your
phone calls may not be returned in what you consider a timely
manner, or returned at all if they are long distance.
Please begin "talking" to us through email.
- Email
demanding "what do you have available" is usually
ignored. We place dogs on a one-to-one basis. If we don't
have an application from you, we don't know what dog might
be a good match for you. And we're not going to waste our
time guessing. We urge you to read the FAQ and then fill
out the application.
- We
wish we could, but we can't pay the vet bills of a dog that
isn't turned into rescue.
- We
do not take phone calls after 8:30 pm.
